Holiday Contest!

I know, I know, I'm late on this... life decided to reach up and drag me around a bit from dawn to dusk and back again last week. I've managed to get up and dust myself off now, and I think he's gonna let me be long enough for me to get this next contest started.

In regards to the previous contest, the winner was my piece, Image of Death with three votes.

Now then, to a more important matter...

The last contest generated a lot of interest, but sadly, not a lot of entries. I understand that life has a tendency to get in the way sometimes (and I'm not exempt from that). Thus, I'm going to try something a little new. I adore literature submissions, but I also kind of want to see a few more images put into our contests (not to say stop submitting stories; my god, don't you guys dare do that!). After all, this is a group that accepts all sorts of genres~

Thus, I'm going to extend the contest deadline this time around.

Indeed, my dear members, you are going to have two months to come up with something that will put a lovely gentle (or not so gentle) man into quite a bit of trouble, following the contest theme of course....

The holidays are fast approaching, and though there may be many different faiths and celebrations to be had through the next couple months, November and December are generally thought of as times of togetherness and festivities. Plenty of images come to mind, but this time around, there's only one thing I want to see...

I want to see a pretty package all wrapped up nice and tight~

Your challenge this holiday season, ladies and gents, is to get a man all wrapped up and unable to get very far, if anywhere at all. You are more than welcome (encouraged, in fact) to get super creative with this idea. After all, a handsome piece of work wrapped head to toe in ribbon with a bow on top is quite lovely, but trust me when I say you want to stand out somehow. Perhaps he got a bit careless and was buried up to his neck in snow? Or maybe someone was curious on how to tie a turkey, and he just happened to be their practice dummy? The options are quite open, my friends!

A few basic rules (that you really should read through):

This contest is for members only. If you want to join in, but aren't a member yet, joining is free and really easy. I promise, we don't bite hard unless you beg us for it.

Your submission will be accepted under most any terms, so long as it holds true to the contest theme, the group theme (of distressed gentlemen), and the deviantArt ToS (which if you really need to read (or re-read), you can do so here.)

DistressedGentlemen is a group that accepts work of almost any kind through any medium--digital, traditional, photography, literature, 3-D, vector, flash, photomanip, you name it! However, this MUST be a new submission created specifically for this contest. I also ask that you refrain from plagiarism and collaborations within this contest. Getting ideas from admins and using them as inspirations won't be considered collaborations (as I plan on giving the same suggestions to anyone who asks), but if you take the idea verbatim and claim it as your own, then we've got a problem. Trust me, the more you put in, the more you'll get out.

There are several opportunities for this topic to be applied to a poor gentlemen in trouble; feel free to get creative! Keep in mind that a little variety goes quite a long way.

Though we are a GiD group, we are NOT strictly a bondage, yaoi/slash, or sexually oriented group (after all, there ARE many ways of keeping your man right where you want him with this contest). If you have an idea for a heterosexual fiction, then go for it! No bondage, clothes on? Bring it on! Just make sure that the one in trouble is a gentle (or not-so-gentle) being of the male persuasion.

Lastly, please, please, please label or let one of the admins know when you submit that your entry is a contest entry! I wish to avoid any chance of having an entry missed because it was moved to a different folder.

Deadline for this contest will be 11:59 PM CST (-6 GMT) on December 31st, 2012 (yes, this is going to run clear up to next year). Voting will begin on January 1st for the time being.
